These two play two best friends on Spy Like Me who found themselves driven apart by working for rival agencies among other things. Are the pair back on track?
BEHIND THE SCENES: Let's start with you Donald. What's it feel like to be recurring on the show now?
DONALD: It's great. I've always been the best friend, the guy who reacted to everything happening to this guy over here. Now I actually have my own story.
BTS: Your character is a CIA liaison. What does that mean?
D: Yeah, Danny's still a CIA guy, but thanks to this job, he spends most of his time at IIA. He's in charge of playing peacemaker basically, and if you think about it, that's what he's done for awhile now anyway. He's always the one they called at IIA when they couldn't get important information from the CIA. But now that's he's around his best friend again, it's got a very different dynamic.
BTS: Jensen, what's it like having him on the set all the time?
JENSEN: It reminds me of the early days of season one when we were both the new guys. We're having a great time. We've got great scenes together.
D: What I think the best part is, besides being employed, is that these guys have been friends for a long time. Absolutely nothing is off limits.
J: Yeah, they can talk about anything. Nate can't talk to Angie about everything.
BTS: It's Danny who Nate tells about his quest to find his family first, right?
J: Yep. Before Angie, before anybody, he tells Danny.
BTS: Do you know how that arc is going now that Nate has found this half sister?
J: Well, I don't know what I can say, but he's definitely going to meet her. How could he not?
D: It's got to be weird though. She's in jail for prostitution.
J: Oh, yeah. It's definitely going to be weird.
BTS: Have they cast anyone in the part yet?
J: I know they've met with some people. But as far as I know, nothing's set in stone.
BTS: Donald, do you know anything about how your character will relate with the big bad of this season, the Horsemen?
D: I'm sure he'll get in there, but from what I can tell, it'll be slow going. Danny's still just getting them files at this point. But I want him in the field. I would look bad ass with a gun.
J: A gun makes anyone automatically more bad ass looking. It's just a fact.
BTS: Got any scoop on the Horsemen in general?
J: Honestly, we don't know much ourselves. It's just as shadowy to us as it is to the viewers. We're just a few episodes ahead.
D: I know 3x06 is a big one. First big action episode since the premiere. Of course I'm reading files.
J: I'm out of that episode too. I have one scene and no lines. I'm looking forward to how it all turns out. It looked awesome in the script.
BTS: How about you guys? Anymore "brocations"?
J: No time to relax these days.
D: I'm waiting on the bro-mission.
J: Bro-mission; I like that.
BTS: It's time for the final question, any behind the scenes stories.
D: Nate's office is the smallest set, like, ever. It's awful. I hate it. We had to sit in that set for an entire day for an episode. How many of us was it, six?
J: Yeah, it was six. It was hot in there. Everyone was mad and people kept dropping their lines.
D: People! It was you! You had like two lines and you kept messing up!
J: I couldn't get in the room. I just had to sit down and it was impossible.
D: So yeah, I hate that set.
BTS: Thanks for talking to me guys.
J: No problem.
D: Yeah, what he said.
